Accounts

On this page
Accounts let a developer sign in and reach their apps. A new account starts with an email, then a short profile, then a magic link. An existing account skips the profile and goes straight to the link. GitHub, Google, and Apple can create or attach an account when the provider returns a verified email.
How it works
The sign-in screen has three stages: enter an email, finish registration, or wait for the link.
A known email receives a single-use magic link that expires in 15 minutes. The message uses the Notifiable email layout, with the logo centered at the top, this email’s own sign-in view, and a centered footer for notifiable.sh. The plain token is emailed. Only its SHA-256 hash is stored. Opening the link consumes it, verifies the email if needed, and starts a remembered session. An unknown email is held in the session until the person submits their name, how many apps they have, the stacks they use, and their role. That creates the account and then sends the same kind of link. the developer welcome waits until that link signs them in and opens their screen.
Social sign-in accepts GitHub, Google, and Apple. GitHub requests read:user and user:email. Apple is stateless and asks for name and email. If that provider account was seen before, the linked user is signed in. Otherwise Notifiable matches the verified email or creates a user, then stores the provider id. A newly created social account receives the developer welcome once they are signed in and sent to their screen. An existing account does not.
the developer welcome is one letter from Othmane. It greets the person by first name, or with “there” when the provider sent no name. It links the quickstart, documentation, and SDKs and integrations, and invites a reply to [email protected].
After sign-in, a pending workspace invite is accepted first. A user with no workspace goes to create one. A user who already has a workspace goes to the last intended app home. Sign-out invalidates the session.
The signed-in person opens Account from the user menu. They can change their first and last name. A new email is confirmed from a link sent to that address before it replaces the current one. The page lists the sign-in methods already used — email, GitHub, Google, or Apple — and the recent sign-ins.
