Subscription upgrade

On this page
The plan picker shows monthly prices for Free, Starter, Pro, and Scale. Choosing a paid plan opens a billing page. Annual billing is an upsell on that page: ten months for the year, two months free. The current plan is the workspace subscription. A new workspace starts on Free.
How it works
The owner opens the plan picker from workspace billing, and from the app switcher when the workspace is at its app cap. The picker uses the same 3px corners and buttons as the rest of the dashboard. Other members cannot open billing. Free, Starter, Pro, or Scale is current when that is the workspace plan. Starter and Pro continue to /workspaces/{workspace}/subscription/upgrade with the chosen plan. Scale is contact sales. Free cannot be selected as a checkout plan.
The plan picker shows monthly prices. Starter is $9 a month. Pro is $29 a month. Yearly billing is not chosen there.
The billing page is for the workspace owner. The workspace name and billing email are small badges, and the email is the workspace owner’s address. It cannot be edited. The form collects first name, last name, address, city, country, and postal code. Country is a searchable list of every country. State appears only when that country has states, and that list is searchable too. A company checkbox asks for the company name when the owner is paying on behalf of a company. Save my info stores that billing profile on the workspace and fills it in next time. The selected plan sits on the right, with an annual upsell, then a summary of subtotal and due today. Monthly due today matches the monthly price. Annual subtotal is the full year and due today is the discounted annual price. Starter annual is $90 instead of $108. Pro annual is $290 instead of $348. Pay now shows a loader until Paddle’s overlay is ready. The overlay uses the light theme. When the payment completes, Paddle stays on this page. A full-screen loader says the subscription is activating. The transaction id is sent only after that loader has been up for nine seconds. The server reads that transaction with the API key and activates the plan only when Paddle reports it paid or completed for this workspace. If the workspace has no subscription row yet, that payment creates it. The loader stays up and tries again for a few seconds before sending the owner back. The owner then receives two emails: a subscription confirmation with the invoice attached, and a note from Othmane thanking them for trusting Notifiable. A repeated confirmation of the same payment does not send them again. Paddle collects the card. Notifiable does not store it. The page footer says payment is secured by Paddle and Notifiable.sh. Scale stays contact sales. Free cannot be selected as a checkout plan. Opening the page without a paid plan, or with Free, Scale, or an unknown plan, shows Starter on monthly billing. An unknown billing interval shows monthly. interval=year opens the page with the annual upsell already chosen. A saved profile is used instead of the owner’s name. With no saved profile, first and last name come from the owner and the country starts as the United States.
When Paddle reports the payment complete, the workspace subscription switches to that plan. Subscribers and notifications already used stay consumed, and the open usage row’s remaining counts follow the new limits. Creating, deleting, or restoring an app sets apps used to the live app count and apps remaining to the plan cap minus that count. A repeated notification for the same payment is stored once. When Paddle reports the subscription canceled, the workspace returns to Free.
The displayed plans are fixed:
- Free — $0, 3 apps, 1,000 active subscribers, 5,000 notifications a month, 2 members, 3 workflows. Every new workspace starts here.
- Starter — $9 a month, or $90 a year, 5 apps, 10,000 active subscribers, 100,000 notifications a month, 5 members, 10 workflows.
- Pro — $29 a month, or $290 a year, 15 apps, 50,000 active subscribers, 500,000 notifications a month, 15 members, unlimited workflows.
- Scale — custom limits. Contact sales. Numeric caps are unlimited until a custom entitlement exists.
